These two words (and an exclamation point) are from E.M. Forster’s 1910 novel Howards End. They’ve got absolutely nothing to do with advertising. But they say everything about how to do it well. I’m an award-winning creative leader who loves creating things that connect with customers across all kinds of media in all shapes and sizes. I actually have a very scientific way to tell if what I’m working on will make a connection — I get goosebumps. Seriously. When I feel a connection, I get goosebumps. And if I get goosebumps, there’s a good chance the customer will get goosebumps — and feel a connection — too.
